Weekly Log Home 2012 #6

The general consensus among campers is that they can’t believe the second session is almost over.  Only a few more days of fun in the sun at Moose.  For posterity, here are the highlights since we last wrote.

Weekly Log Home 2012 #5

Weather on Monday, opening day of the second session, was perfect: hot, with a nice breeze off the lake.  Close to 150 excited campers from about 14 states and as far away as Beijing, Mongolia, Hong Kong, Paris, The Netherlands, Sweden, and London, were greeted by 50 staff from the U.S. and also from Ireland, England, Latvia, Columbia, Spain, and Hong Kong.  As I wrote during the first session,

Why a Camp Experience: Creating an Environment That Inspires

In our observations of campers over the past decade the words pressure and focus come to mind whether in academic or other endeavors. It is not unusual for eight or nine year olds to be urged to excel in school and athletics and this translates into academic tutoring, athletic clinics, and even the quest for the latest in high tech communication options.
